
The Jinja Fish Festival is organized with funding support from GIZ- Responsible Fisheries Business Chain (RFBC) project with the support of a national organizing committee which comprises the Directorate of Fisheries(DIFR), Lake Victoria Fisheries Organization, UFPEA, AFALU, UNWFO,UFFCA, Makerere University the Department of Zoology and Entomology, NBS Group among others
The Objectives of the festival include:
- To promote Knowledge exchange through networking among the different stakeholders within and outside the fisheries industry
- To offer a platform where blue innovations and research findings can be shared to allow the business communities
- exploit the available opportunities
- To offer a platform where sustainable Nile Perch Fisheries management and its implementation can be explained and promoted.
- To offer Families and youths that love fish a unique experience to celebrate the Fisheries with Music, dance and drama by leading celebrities as influencers of society
